I am certified as a birth and postpartum Doula. I proudly provide support from Bump to Birth & Beyond to expectant and new parents. As a mother of 3, I have roughly 20 years of prenatal and infant care, and baby gear retail management experience.
Having a birth and postpartum doula can be tremendously invaluable for those wanting one-on-one support. Each pregnancy and birth is unique and no matter what your journey is like, my goal is to prepare, empower, and educate you during this momentous time in your life. The days and weeks after you give birth can be tough as your body is healing and your baby is adjusting. Allow me to be there for you in whatever capacity you need so that you can focus on bonding with your new baby.
I am the owner of A Positive Experience Doula Services and Sensitive Sleep Consulting– a certified labour/birth and postpartum doula with Doula Training Canada and a certified sleep consultant. My passion is to help women have a positive and informed birth and postpartum experience. Birth should not be full of discomfort, confusion, stress, and dialation deadlines, but a positive experience! Everyone needs extra help during these times. I hope to support entire families by bringing knowledge, experience, and compassion into the labour room and nursery.
Before becoming a doula, I got my Associate of Science degree in physical geography. Afterward, I took time off school to get married. Not long after, my husband and I discovered we were expecting! Through pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period I decided to become a doula.
Looking back at the time when my firstborn was an infant who woke up every 30 minutes at night, I remember the frustration of not knowing how to improve the situation. Thus, I decided to train at the Institute of Sensitive Sleep to become a sleep consultant, so that I could expand my toolbox and better help parents understand and deal with their little ones’ sleep challenges! My hope is for people to have a positive experience with their sleep and to no longer dread bedtime.
